MARTIN SEGETA

Martin Segeta comes from the Czech Republic and completed his dance training at the Dance Conservatory in Brno in the Czech Republic. He successfully completed his studies in 2014 and became a member of the ensemble at the National Theater in Brno. There he danced in pieces from the company's repertoire with performances in classical, contemporary, neo-classical and experimental choreographies. He was promoted to demi-solo dancer there.

TRAINING AND BEGINNINGS

From the 2018/19 season, Martin Segeta became a member of the TanzCompany of the Tiroler Landestheater in Innsbruck. There he danced in choreographies by renowned guest choreographers such as Uwe Scholz, Jiri Kylian, Nacho Duato and Mauro Bigonzetti. He has taken part in productions such as Frida Kahlo - Nueva Pasion, The Tempest, Terra Baixa, Romy Schneider and Lorca (ch: Enrique Gasa Valga), as well as Cyrano de Bergerac (ch: Filip Veverka), and Maledetto Modigliani (ch: Lara Brandi).

From the 2023/24 season, Martin will be a permanent ensemble member of the Limonada Enrique Gasa Valga Dance Company, founded in 2023.

INNSBRUCK AND ME

What is your favorite place in Innsbruck?

My favorite place in Innsbruck are the numerous forest paths that can be found around the city. I love walking through the forest without a destination and enjoying nature.

What do you like about Innsbruck and what makes it so special for you?

Innsbruck is special to me because people from different countries and cultures come together here. There are so many friendly people who enjoy this wonderful city and it creates a great vibe.

What are your favorite leisure activities in Innsbruck?

My favorite activity in Innsbruck is climbing. Climbing allows me to switch off and forget my worries for a while. It also benefits my dance performance in addition to dancing, as it allows me to train my upper body strength.

Where is your favorite place to eat and/or linger in Innsbruck?

I like to go to a good pizzeria like Tonnys or the Pizzerei. I like to linger in cozy places with good beer like the Tribaun.
