ALPINE DANCE CITY

INNSBRUCK GETS MOVING
Building on the idea of Innsbruck as a place of encounter, the idea of the Innsbruck Winter Dance Festival. A festival that aims to manifest Innsbruck and its surroundings as the Alpine capital of dance. Because: dancing creates connections. Dancing is a form of communication. Dance touches the soul and promotes community.
We are social individuals, we need each other, we need society and spaces in which we can reflect ourselves. The Innsbruck Winter Dance Festival aims to create precisely these spaces in the Innsbruck region by bringing dance to locations in and around Innsbruck and thus making them visible to a wide audience. The aim is to establish the Innsbruck region as a place for dance in Europe and beyond.
The Innsbruck region impresses with its seemingly limitless diversity and its alpine-urban charm. On the one hand, it consists of the city of Innsbruck with all its possibilities: from sport, culture and architecture to the university, local scene and much more.
The region also includes 40 towns in the surrounding area, which are characterized above all by their ski areas, hiking opportunities and high alpine conditions. This combination makes the Innsbruck region something special - no other region combines contrasts in such a charming way as Innsbruck.
