A dance piece by Enrique Gasa Valga set to Johann Sebastian Bach's St. Matthew Passion and music by Roberto Tubaro

Mary Magdalene: Sinner, saint, lover, witness. Caught between slander and veneration, her true story remains shrouded in the twilight of tradition to this day. Choreographer Enrique Gasa Valga approaches this enigmatic female figure with the power and intimacy of Johann Sebastian Bach’s St. Matthew Passion—one of the most moving works in the history of music. Amid chorales and arias, a dance performance emerges that allows the audience to experience faith, desire, guilt, and redemption as a physical experience.

In the title role: the extraordinary Oumy Cisse, whose dance gives Mary Magdalene a voice beyond words. An actor playing the role of Judas weaves Bach’s musical Passion with spoken word, drawing the audience deep into this timeless story.

The team behind the acclaimed hit production *Saving Salvador—A Tribute to Dalí*, which caused a sensation, returns to design the sets and costumes: Birgit Edebauer-Heiss is responsible for the costumes, and Alberto Talarico and Valeria Angesi for the set design. Together, they create a space that bridges the sacred and the sensual, where Bach’s music, dance, and storytelling merge into a moving total work of art.
